Single All India entrance test for PG and MBBS from 2011

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

Today It is decided.

The original article is in Times of India 14th August 2010 that is today.Students all o over India in one session will either get through or wait for another year to get into medical PG or MBBS. It is definitely going t decrease monetary burden of writing different  exams, but problems and questions are still remaining.

Forums across the country are burning with this story and comments like the following are cropping up.

if it s once a year…

it will be quite bad on a medico…

….whole year…..

….or years of preps…..

on once a year exam for all colleges…

if those 3 hrs go wrong…TRY next year…!!!

People have serious and genuine concern over the late announcement and unclear decision and hasty implementation, which could bring about lawsuits all over the country.

Yeah its confirmed now……it may cause big big harm to some state student like andhra,,,,who hv never know ai pattern n nevr prepared for it….,,,,also why only 11k seats all over india,,,,shudnt it be more…..
Changing pattern @ just 3 mnths before may disturb the students…..

I have unidentified sources claiming that a plan has  already been laid out for the implementation of the Supreme Court Ruling. Which in summary goes as follows( I do not make any claim of it being totally correct so do not blame me) :

In the briefing to the Ministry by the Board of the Governors of the MCI, following considerations and points were made:-
- Exam to be a little later than January for this session
- Two ranks for each candidate (one national and one state)
- Reservations on Central and State quota to remain as they are (MCI doesn’t have any power pertaining to reservation and nor can a decision regarding it be taken by the Ministry of Health, it comes under the purview of HRD ministry and special powers of the PM)
- Management quota in private colleges to remain but will have to be filled up only on the basis of a CET based merit list (no additional tests and interviews allowed)
- Students will need to apply to private and autonomous colleges separately and then each college will publish a merit list of applicants based on marks obtained in CET
- Exploring the options and possibilities of other potential examining bodies besides AIIMS

Still it is early before the matter materializes. Till then we can hope, everything goes well.

The marks of AIIMS July 2010 examinations have been declared. This is displayed in www.AIIMSEXMAS.org. You will need your Roll Number and Date of Birth to get the marks. In my opinion the marks should have been declared well before this. As the more the time passes interest fades away. So go check out your marks in there, and all the best for the coming Post Graduate Examinations.

Back from 2009 AIIMS and PGI exams

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

I have not told you where I went. Sorry for that. I had entrance examinations for AIIMS, New Delhi and PGI, Chandigarh. I gave the AIIMS in Kolkata and for PGI I had to go to Chandigarh as there were no other centre. AIIMS was on15th November. PGI was on 22nd November.

On 14th November I went to Kolkata via East Coast Express. Did my best in he examination the day after. Returned the same day. On 19th November i.e. Thursday I along with my parents was accompanied by dear Dipti and her father to Chandigarh. On 19th morning we left Cuttack via Jan Satabdi Express at 6.50 AM. We reached Howrah Junction, Kolkata at 1 PM. Waited there for our connecting train The Kalka Mail. We had a AC 2 tier reservation upto Chandigarh at 7.40 PM. Boarded the train on time and reached Chandigarh just 1.30 hours late at 5 AM on 21st November i.e. Saturday morning. Sat for the  examination. Our center Shree Guru Gobind Singh College experienced some irregularity, hence exam was delayed by 30 minutes and started at 9.30 AM. Exam was over by 12.30PM. We left Chandigarh via a taxi as Dipti and her father was to catch Purushottam on the same day at 10.30 PM from New Delhi Station. It took us 6 hours to travel 260 KMs due to heavy traffic in New Delhi.

I along with my parents resided in State Bank of India’s Guest House near Railway Station called Rishi Guest House. The next day we went to Taj Mahal in Agra, Krishna Janma Bhumi in Mathura and Vrindavan. On 24th of November I went for New Delhi sight seeing to Akshardham Temple, Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar, India Gate etc. Got an external harddrive 320GB from Nehru Place. On 25th I went to Lal Quilla, the Red Fort and boarded Rajdhani Express to Bhubaneswar at 5.20 PM and landed in my residence on 26th November.

I will post photographs and details of my visit along with some stories after some days . I am tired, I did not qualify for the entrance examinations and AIPGME is on 10th January. So all these pile up as big excuses. But I will update, that is a guarantee. Anyways I am looking forwards to some hard work in coming months to crack the next post graduate entrance examinations. This year has definitely been wasted in doing my internship. Btw I have the satisfaction that I have done my internship with utmost sincerety.

Bye for now, I can not promise to write tomorrow, but I will write for sure.
